Field/Clinical Placement Requirements

  • The Field Liaison is responsible to assist all students and staff with their field/clinical placement needs within the Schools of Health Sciences, Community Services and Public Safety. This includes looking after all placement related injuries.

    Student Requirements

    It is the student's responsibility to complete all requirements for their program and show proof of completed documentation. 

    Students are required to obtain a police background screen including a vulnerable sector check through their local police station. 

    Students within the Schools of Health Sciences, Community Services and Public Safety must complete a Health History and Communicable Disease Screening Form. 

    Instruction letters and required forms will be mailed directly to registered FIRST YEAR students 

    NOTE: Returning students are responsible to pick up the forms from the Field Liaison in A221c

     

    *STUDENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE TO COVER THE COST FOR ALL SERVICES*

    *Students are required to bring ALL Original documents to placement*

    (The field liaison office does not keep or have access to original student documents after passport to placement has been issued)

    Placement Requirements

    Please see Summary of Requirements and Specific Program Requirement tabs for placement requirements.

    Please be advised, it is at the discretion of our placement agencies whether to accept students with a criminal record. However, students will be able to complete the academic portion of their program.  Students that are unable to obtain a placement because of a criminal record will not meet graduation requirements.

    NOTE: Any student who does not complete all of the requirements for their program are not permitted to go to their placement  

     

    International Students 

    International Students are required to obtain a police background screen including a vulnerable sector check from their Country of Origin and are reminded to bring all past immunization records to be reviewed before placement.

    Students should contact the International Department at 519-542-7751 ext.2438 if they require records from their Country of Origin.
