Why do I need to log in?
Meetings will be held at least three (3) times a year or at the call of the Chair.
The Chair of the Council is responsible for the formulation of meeting agendas.
All meeting motions and/or recommendations will be approved by consensus wherever possible, but in the event of consensus not being achieved, motions will be carried by simple majority vote. All Council members shall have one (1) vote. Motions can be made or seconded by any voting member. Council secretariat services to be provided by Lambton College.
Council members may appoint a designate if they are unable to attend a meeting. If a Council member is absent for two consecutive meetings without appointing a designate, his or her membership on the Council may cease.
Mileage shall be provided at the rate consistent with southern Ontario Provincial Government mileage rate for Aboriginal Education Council committee members not in receipt of travel subsidy through other means.
An Annual Report will be presented to the Board of Governors by the Aboriginal Board member as it pertains to the Aboriginal Education Council and its activities.
A quorum shall consist of fifty percent (50%) plus one (1) of the appointed members. In the event that quorum is not met, the meeting shall proceed and information distributed as "information only."
The terms of reference shall be reviewed every two (2) years by the committee. The terms of reference can be reviewed at the call of the Chair.
