The structures of our society, including social interactions, business transactions, and establishment of cultural norms, are founded on trust. We must trust each other in order to function together for mutual benefit and success.
Applying well-defined standards to our practices and procedures means we commit to quality in our professions. When we model the benefits of discipline and honesty, we demonstrate what it means to be trustworthy.
By implementing habits of academic integrity, such as proficient standards for learning, effective test preparation practices and testing protocols, we also model and provide for our students fair and reliable expectations for learning; we teach professional integrity by applying ethics…the foundation of our common trust.
Lambton College is a proud member of the International Center for Academic Integrity (ICAI). The ICAI is out of Clemson University in South Carolina and has a very good website with several resources for educators.
