Your Library Card

The Library & Learning Commons uses the Lambton College ID card as a Library card. You will need to present this card at the circulation desk if you wish to borrow an item. The staff will not knowingly check out materials to anyone except the card holder.

Students or College employees can request a card at the Office of the Registrar or Human Resources. Community members are not eligible for Lambton College ID cards, see the Community Members page for an alternative.

Placing a Hold

Lambton College employees and students are able to place holds on items online using Page 1+ and at the circulation desk. Step by step instructions can be found in the following document.

Some items, such as books on reserve or most equipment, cannot have a hold placed on them. For these items, you can ask about their availability at the circulation desk.

Returning Items

Most items can be returned in person at the circulation desk or by placing it into the Book Return before the library closes on the day that the item is due.

Return Laptops, iPads, and other equipment at the circulation desk at least 30 minutes before the library closes on the day that the item is due.

Renewals

The library offers one renewal on Books in the General and Leisure Collections, board games, and DVDs if there are no active requests for the item. Students and Faculty can sign into your account on Page 1+ and follow the attached steps to renew.

If the item is not eligible for renewal, please bring the item to the Circulation Desk in the library.

Overdue & Lost Items

The library staff will send an overdue notice via Lambton College email or by phone (community users). Any account with an overdue item or fine on it will not be able to borrow any additional items until the situation is resolved and any fines or fees are paid.

If the item is returned late, accumulated fines must be paid. Fines will be calculated based on the table above.

If the item is not returned within 30 days of the due date for any reason, a bill for replacement costs, accumulated fines and processing costs will be sent out. For more expensive items (including but not limited to laptops and iPads), students won't be able to register for classes, receive transcripts or grades or apply to graduate until the bill is paid in addition to not being able to borrow new items.
